After looking at the idea of fairy outfits i decided to look into the idea of 'fairys', enchanted make believe creatures (along that theme anyway!)
I found this picture on the internet....

Beautiful illustration from the book 'farie-ality' house of ellwand book. I want to try and make my illustrations this good!!!

Furthering the idea of nature as a theme i found a book called 'Fairie-ality' there were some stunning pictures in there, these of pressed dried flowers..

....would work really well as a print.

The book is based on outfits made from flower petals, leaves and feathers for fairies. The outfits are beautifully hande made and delicate...

This has really given me some ideas for my collection. Creating outfits from giant petal shaped fabric to incorporate petals would be hard but also interesting..

Finding fabric which has a similar surface pattern to the dried petals would be difficult but i could dye and embroider them, fold and pleat the fabric to create the 'wiltering' effect..
Chiffon would also work really well as it is a delicate and floaty fabric.
I'm still not sure about a theme for my collection.. it starting to worry me now!!!! I've recently been looking at some nature images of flowers and leaves. I like the images i have but i feel i need to narrow the them as 'nature' is very broad! Im also worried this will be a common theme.

I love the centre of the flowers, the layers and the delicacy of the petals. I could use the idea of flowers as a print or for the silhouette. This would mean my collection would be very feminine, i quite like the idea of using this for menswear rather than womenswear..

I love this image! I don't know why i just really like the deicacy and prettiness of the skeleton leaves! The background colour show up these cream ones really well..

I also love the contrasting black and white, you can really see the details of the leaves in this picture. The shapes of the leaves could act as a starting point for a silhouette, the changing in colour of leaves, (from autumn through to spring), would create a nice colou palette.

An architectural image; im not entirely sure what it is of.... maybe a bed post, but i love the carved wood design. It has an Art Deco kind of feel. I will research this topic further as the 1930's is already a common theme with the interiors previously.

I found another image i like, again not related to fashion. I like the iidea of having 3D flowers on jewellery or on accessories. This also fits in with the 'romantic' theme.
First i have found images which i feel are inspiring or that i just like! The following pictures have a 'boudoir' romantic feel to them. I wanted to look outside of fashion for my inspiration.

The interior stylist describes the theme as:

''Powdery pinks, nude, fleshy tones and shimmering oyster are versatile neutrals with key elements being satin, silk, faux fur, mother of pearl and hints of glitter''
